Welcome to DetailingSpot. I have been detailing cars for quite some time but detailing is not my profession – I am actually a physicist by training. I am very passionate about detailing and have, over the years, spent a great deal of time testing products, putting ideas to paper, learning, and experimenting on what ever cars I can get my hands on. I am extremely meticulous in my detailing and have a desire to understand why and what works rather than just repeating what I learn and read from others. I love to teach and explain – hopefully that is apparent throughout the pages of this site. This site is being created in the hopes that it will help people new to detailing to understand the procedures for detailing and provide some step-by-step instructions.
While this site is not geared to the professional detailer, there is certainly information contained here that may be of interest to professional detailers. The majority of procedures, techniques, machines, etc. mentioned here are for people like me – someone who wants their car to look its’ best.
To me, detailing is a science and an art. There are certain detailing methods and techniques that have been successful time and time again – and there are others that simply don’t work! Generally, what works for me will work for you but there will always be cases where you will have to experiment to find the best procedure/solution. My suggestion is that you use the information on this site as a guide to help you find what works for you and your car. If you have any comments, concerns, suggestions, complaints, ideas, etc., please do not hesitate to contact me.
The links and products that I have on this site are for those that I have used and that I recommend. I have certainly tried more than appears on this site but, if it doesn’t appear then I don’t recommend it. There are a plethora of detailing products on the market and a plethora of commercial sites selling such products – some of these products are excellent while others are not worth the packaging they are in – learning what works and what doesn’t is one of the aims of this site.
There is a wealth of detailing information online through other detailing sites, blogs, forums, and wikis…in due time I will list the sites that have taught me the science and the art of detailing in the ‘Links‘ section. If you have a question about detailing or anything on this site, please feel free to contact me.
